Serving temperature influences a wine's aromas, freshness and perception. The following values are guidelines: style, structure and personal taste may justify small adjustments.
Sparkling wines
These are generally served chilled, approximately between 6 and 10 °C. More complex sparkling wines may benefit from a slightly higher temperature to help reveal their aromas.
White and rosé wines
Light white wines and fresh rosés usually work well between 8 and 12 °C. A more structured white wine can be served slightly above this range to better reveal its complexity.
Red wines
Light red wines can be served at around 12 to 16 °C; more structured reds are often served between 16 and 18 °C. Serving red wine too warm may emphasise the sensation of alcohol.
Storage and serving are different
A stable storage temperature does not have to match each wine's serving temperature. You can remove the bottle from the wine cooler some time before serving or use different temperature zones if the appliance has them. Avoid sudden changes and adjust the temperature to the specific bottle.
